ALPHALOK XR 5 MG Tablet contains Prazosin Hydrochloride 5 mg (Extended Release). It is an alpha-1 adrenergic blocker (extended-release antihypertensive medicine) used for the treatment of hypertension and related vascular disorders.

Uses:

Treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension).
Management of urinary symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Treatment of Raynaud's phenomenon and Raynaud's disease.
Adjunct treatment of left ventricular heart failure.

Dose:

Take the dose exactly as prescribed by a physician.
Usually taken once daily. The 5 mg extended-release tablet is not intended as the initial dose; treatment is generally started with a lower strength and adjusted gradually.
Swallow the extended-release tablet whole; do not crush, chew, or split it.
The dose and duration of treatment should be adjusted according to the patient's condition and response to therapy.
