Fosfomax Oral Powder contains Fosfomycin Trometamol (equivalent to 3 g Fosfomycin), a broad-spectrum antibiotic that kills bacteria by disrupting early stages of bacterial cell wall synthesis. It is formulated as a single-dose sachet for convenience and rapid action.
Treatment of acute uncomplicated lower urinary tract infections (acute cystitis) in women
Prevention of urinary tract infections during diagnostic or surgical transurethral procedures
Treatment of uncomplicated urinary infections caused by susceptible strains of Escherichia coli and Enterococcus faecalis
Adult Women: A single sachet (3 g) dissolved in a glass of water, taken once. For acute cystitis, it should be taken on an empty stomach (either 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals), ideally before bedtime after emptying the bladder.
Children: Not recommended for children under 12 years of age for uncomplicated UTIs.
