Levostar 1 mg Tablet contains Levosalbutamol 1 mg (as Levosalbutamol Sulfate). Manufactured by Square Pharmaceuticals PLC, it is a single-isomer, selective beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist. By selectively stimulating beta-2 receptors in bronchial smooth muscle, it causes relaxation of airway muscles, rapid bronchodilation, and relief of bronchospasm with a reduced risk of cardiac side effects compared to racemic salbutamol.
Relief and prevention of bronchospasm in patients with reversible obstructive airway diseases, such as bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Management of acute asthma symptoms, wheezing, shortness of breath, and exercise-induced bronchospasm.
Adults and adolescents (12 years and older): Recommended dose is typically 1 mg to 2 mg taken orally 3 times daily, or as prescribed by a physician.
Children (6 to 11 years): Usually 0.5 mg to 1 mg taken orally 3 times daily.
Take strictly as directed by a healthcare professional. Dosage may be adjusted based on the patient's response and clinical severity.
