ORCEF DS 200mg/5ml Suspension 50ml contains Cefixime 200 mg/5 ml. It is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis and preventing bacterial growth.

Uses:

Treatment of respiratory tract infections (such as bronchitis and pneumonia).
Treatment of urinary tract infections (UTIs).
Treatment of ear, nose, and throat (ENT) infections, including otitis media, sinusitis, and tonsillitis.
Treatment of typhoid fever caused by susceptible bacteria.
Treatment of other susceptible bacterial infections as prescribed by a physician.

Dose:

Children: Dose is based on body weight, usually 8 mg/kg/day as a single dose or in two divided doses, or as directed by a physician.
Shake the suspension well before each use.
Measure the dose accurately using the provided measuring cup, spoon, or oral syringe.
Can be taken with or without food.
Complete the full course of treatment even if symptoms improve.
Do not stop or change the dose without medical advice.
