Description & Uses

• Active Ingredient: Ciprofloxacin (as Hydrochloride) 250mg.
• What it does: It is a synthetic, broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It works by targeting and inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV enzymes, which are vital for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, and repair, leading to rapid bacterial cell death.
• Prescribed for: Mild-to-moderate bacterial infections including urinary tract infections (UTIs), uncomplicated respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, infectious diarrhea, and typhoid fever.

Dosage & Administration

• Standard Regimen: Typically 1 tablet (250mg) taken twice daily (every 12 hours). The exact duration of treatment is determined by your doctor based on the location and severity of the infection (usually 3 to 14 days).
• Important Rules: Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water. It can be taken with or without food, but taking it at consistent times daily maintains steady drug levels in your body.
• Dairy & Mineral Intersections: Do not take this tablet at the same time as dairy products (like milk or yogurt) or calcium-fortified juices, as calcium severely blocks the absorption of the medicine. Take the tablet at least 2 hours before or 6 hours after consuming antacids, multivitamins, iron, zinc, or magnesium supplements.
• Hydration: Drink plenty of fluids while taking this medication to keep yourself well-hydrated and prevent the drug from forming crystals in your urine (crystalluria).

Contraindications & Warnings
