RILUZOL 50mg Tablet contains Riluzole 50 mg. It is a neuroprotective medicine that works by reducing the activity of certain chemicals (especially glutamate) in the nervous system. It is mainly used to slow disease progression in motor neuron disorders.
Uses:
Treatment of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) / Motor Neuron Disease (MND).
Helps slow the progression of ALS and may extend survival in affected patients.
Used to reduce nerve cell damage associated with excessive glutamate activity.
Dose:
Adults: Usually 50 mg twice daily (every 12 hours) or as directed by a neurologist.
Take the tablet on an empty stomach (commonly at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals), unless otherwise advised by a physician.
Regular monitoring of liver function tests (LFTs) is recommended during treatment.
Do not stop or change the dose without medical advice.
