Zimax Oral Suspension contains Azithromycin Dihydrohydrate (equivalent to 200 mg Azithromycin per 5 ml), a macrolide antibiotic that clears bacterial infections by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, thereby inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis.
Treatment of acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and community-acquired pneumonia
Treatment of upper respiratory tract infections, including tonsillitis, pharyngitis, and acute bacterial sinusitis
Treatment of acute otitis media (middle ear infection) in children
Treatment of uncomplicated skin and soft tissue infections
Adults: Typically 500 mg (12.5 ml) as a single dose on Day 1, followed by 250 mg (6.25 ml) once daily on Days 2 through 5.
Children (6 months and older): Standard pediatric dose is 10 mg/kg as a single dose on Day 1, followed by 5 mg/kg once daily on Days 2 through 5.
Use as prescribed by a physician and complete the full course.
