Aclene 0.1% Cream 10gm is a topical prescription retinoid medication manufactured by Drug International Ltd.
Topical Treatment of Acne Vulgaris: Indicated for managing mild-to-moderate inflammatory and non-inflammatory acne, including blackheads, whiteheads, papules, and pustules on the face, chest, or back.
Keratosis Pilaris Support: Occasionally used off-label to help smooth out small, rough bumps caused by keratin buildup around hair follicles.
Standard Regimen: Apply a thin layer over the entire affected skin area once daily at night-time before going to bed.
Note: Safety and effectiveness have not been established in children below 12 years of age.
This medicine is strictly for external topical use only.
Prepare the skin: Wash your face or the affected skin area with a mild, soapless, non-abrasive cleanser and fresh water. Pat the skin completely dry and wait 15 to 20 minutes before applying the cream to minimize irritation.
Apply sparingly: Squeeze a small, pea-sized amount onto your fingertip.
Sun Protection: Adapalene increases your skin's sensitivity to UV light. Minimize sun exposure, avoid sunlamps, and apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily while using this treatment.
Be Patient: Acne symptoms may appear to temporarily worsen during the first 2 weeks of therapy (an adjustment period often called "purging").
Most side effects occur during the first month of treatment as the skin adapts, and they generally diminish with continued use:
Dry skin and localized skin peeling (desquamation).
Erythema (skin redness) and mild skin irritation.
A temporary burning, stinging, or warm sensation immediately after application.
Pruritus (skin itching) or an increased vulnerability to sunburn.
