LIPOXIN-B 5 lac unit injection contains Polymyxin B Sulfate 5 lac unit. It is an antibiotic medicine (polymyxin group antibacterial agent) used for the treatment of serious infections caused by susceptible Gram-negative bacteria, especially when other antibiotics are not effective or suitable.
Uses:

Treatment of serious infections caused by susceptible Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Treatment of urinary tract infections caused by susceptible bacteria.

Treatment of bloodstream infections (bacteremia/septicemia) caused by susceptible organisms.

Treatment of meningitis caused by susceptible Gram-negative bacteria.
Dose:

Administer by intravenous (IV), intramuscular (IM), or intrathecal route only under the supervision of a physician or healthcare professional.

IV dose: Usually calculated according to body weight and infection severity; commonly 15,000–25,000 units/kg/day in divided doses.

IM dose: Usually calculated according to body weight and may be divided into multiple doses.
