Description:

CEFTRON 2gm/vial IV Injection contains Ceftriaxone Sodium equivalent to 2 g of Ceftriaxone. It is a third-generation, broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis to eliminate susceptible Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. (Accompanied by 2 ampoules of Water for Injection BP for IV reconstitution).

Uses:

Management of severe lower respiratory tract infections (e.g., severe pneumonia), bacterial meningitis, and septicemia.
Treatment of complicated urinary tract, intra-abdominal, skin/soft tissue, and bone/joint infections.
Treatment of typhoid fever, pelvic inflammatory disease, and infections in immunocompromised patients.

Dose:

Adults: Usually 1 g to 2 g administered intravenously once daily (or in equally divided doses twice daily), depending on severity. Maximum dose: up to 4 g daily (e.g., for severe meningitis).
Reconstitute with sterile Water for Injection and administer as an IV injection or slow infusion strictly under the supervision of a healthcare professional.
