Linagliptin 5 mg
It is a combination oral antidiabetic medicine used to improve blood sugar control in adults with Type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Empagliflozin belongs to the SGLT2 inhibitor group. It works by helping the kidneys remove excess glucose from the body through urine.
Linagliptin belongs to the DPP-4 inhibitor group. It helps increase insulin release after meals and reduces glucose production in the body.
Together, they help improve blood sugar control through two different mechanisms.
Type 2 diabetes mellitus
Control of high blood sugar along with diet and exercise
Patients who need additional blood sugar control with combination therapy
May help reduce certain cardiovascular risks in appropriate diabetic patients
Adults: Usually 1 tablet once daily
Can be taken with or without food
