What it does: It is a topical analgesic rub. Camphor helps relieve muscle spasms and reduces pain sensation. Menthol provides a cooling, soothing sensation by stimulating cold receptors. Methyl Salicylate acts as a localized anti-inflammatory, inhibiting pain-causing prostaglandin synthesis in the treated area.
Prescribed for: Temporary relief of minor aches, muscle pains, and joint soreness associated with backaches, sprains, bruises, strains, arthritis, or rheumatic pain.
Dosage & Administration
Standard Regimen: Gently massage a generous amount of the cream onto the painful area until it is fully absorbed. Apply to the affected area not more than 3 to 4 times daily.
Age Limit: Suitable for adults and children 2 years of age and older. Do not use on children under 2 years old without consulting a doctor.
Application Rules: Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water immediately after applying (unless your hands are the treatment area). Do not apply heat pads, tight bandages, or wraps over the treated area.
Skin Warning: Do not apply the cream to broken skin, open wounds, raw surfaces, or sensitive areas like the eyes and mucous membranes.
Contraindications & Warnings
When NOT to use: Contraindicated if you have bleeding disorders, a known allergy to salicylates (including aspirin), or a sensitivity to menthol or camphor.
Bleeding Risk: Methyl Salicylate can be absorbed through the skin in measurable amounts and may interact with oral blood thinners like Warfarin, potentially increasing your bleeding risk.
Usage Limit: Discontinue use and consult a doctor if your symptoms worsen, persist for more than 7 days, or clear up and then return within a few days.
Side Effects
Localized skin redness, a mild burning or stinging sensation, or temporary irritation at the application site.
