ALPHAPRESS XR 2.5 mg TABLET contains Prazosin Hydrochloride 2.5 mg (Extended Release). It is an alpha-1 adrenergic blocker (antihypertensive medicine) used for the treatment of high blood pressure.

Uses:

Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure)
Helps reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke associated with uncontrolled hypertension
May be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive medicines
Provides 24-hour blood pressure control with extended-release formulation

Dose:

Usually 2.5 mg once daily initially, or as prescribed by the physician
Swallow the extended-release tablet whole; do not crush, chew, or split
Can be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day
Dose may be increased gradually according to the patient's response; maintenance dose is individualized by the physician.
