Description:
Liglimet 2.5mg+500mg Tablet contains Linagliptin 2.5 mg and Metformin Hydrochloride 500 mg. It is a combination oral antidiabetic medication where Linagliptin (a DPP-4 inhibitor) increases insulin secretion and reduces glucagon levels, while Metformin (a biguanide) lowers hepatic glucose production and improves peripheral insulin sensitivity.
Uses:
Management of type 2 diabetes mellitus as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control.
Helps control blood sugar levels when treatment with both Linagliptin and Metformin is appropriate.
Dose:
Adults: Usually 1 tablet taken twice daily with meals to lessen gastrointestinal side effects, as prescribed by a physician.
Dosage is individualized and adjusted strictly by a healthcare provider based on blood glucose levels and renal function.
