Description

Aqua Care 25% Cream 30ml is a high-strength topical emollient and keratolytic agent manufactured by Drug International Ltd. It contains Urea 25% w/w as its active ingredient. Aqua Care works through intense hygroscopic (moisture-binding) properties, altering the structure of cellular proteins in the skin's outer layer to greatly increase its water-holding capacity. Simultaneously, it dissolves the intracellular matrix holding dead skin cells together, promoting mild keratolysis (shedding of dry, scaly skin) to deeply soften thick, rough, or hyperkeratotic skin layers.

Uses

• Treatment of Hyperkeratotic Skin Conditions: Indicated for severe dry skin conditions, including xerosis, ichthyosis (scaly, fish-like skin), and localized skin thickening.

• Management of Eczema and Psoriasis: Used as an adjunctive therapy to hydrate, soothe, and remove dense scales or rough patches caused by eczema or psoriasis.

• Relief for Cracked Feet and Fissures: Highly effective for restoring hydration and repairing deeply cracked skin on the heels, soles, and calloused areas of the feet.

Typical Dose

• Standard Regimen: Apply an adequate amount of the cream to cover the clean, affected skin areas 1 to 2 times daily, or strictly as directed by your physician.

How to Take

• This cream is formulated strictly for external cutaneous (skin) use only. Keep it completely away from the eyes, nose, mouth, and genital areas.

• Prior to application, wash the affected skin areas thoroughly with a mild cleanser and completely rinse away all traces of soap. Pat the skin dry.

• Apply the cream sparingly to the target areas and rub it in gently until absorbed.

• Do not apply this high-strength 25% cream to moist, highly inflamed, badly broken, or actively bleeding skin, as this can trigger severe stinging.

• Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water after application, unless your hands are the treated area.

Common Side Effects

Aqua Care 25% is generally safe and well-tolerated, working locally without significant systemic absorption. However, due to its high urea concentration, it may cause:

• Localized skin irritation, including temporary redness (erythema), itching (pruritus), or a transient stinging and burning sensation, particularly when applied to highly sensitive, thin, or freshly fissured skin.

• Mild localized swelling (edema) in rare instances.
