Description:
Liglimet 2.5mg+850mg Tablet contains Linagliptin 2.5 mg and Metformin Hydrochloride 850 mg. It is a combination oral antidiabetic medication where Linagliptin (a DPP-4 inhibitor) increases insulin release and decreases glucagon levels, while Metformin (a biguanide) decreases hepatic glucose production and enhances insulin sensitivity.
Uses:
Management of type 2 diabetes mellitus as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control.
Helps lower blood sugar levels in adults needing dual therapy with Linagliptin and a higher dose of Metformin.
Dose:
Adults: Usually 1 tablet taken twice daily with meals to minimize gastrointestinal discomfort, as prescribed by a physician.
Dosage is individualized and adjusted strictly by a healthcare provider based on blood glucose levels and kidney function.
