Fungidal 2% Cream contains Miconazole Nitrate ($2\% \text{ w/w}$), a synthetic imidazole antifungal agent. It works by inhibiting the biosynthesis of ergosterol—an essential component of the fungal cell membrane. This disruption impairs cell membrane permeability, leading to the leakage of critical intracellular elements and the destruction of the fungal cell.
Treatment of superficial skin infections caused by dermatophytes or yeasts (such as athlete's foot / tinea pedis, jock itch / tinea cruris, and ringworm / tinea corporis)
Management of cutaneous candidiasis (yeast infections of the skin)
Treatment of Pityriasis versicolor (a fungal infection causing patches of skin discoloration)
Relief from associated skin inflammation, redness, and itching caused by fungal pathogens
Adults and Children: Apply a thin layer of the cream to the affected skin area and surrounding margins 1 to 2 times daily (morning and evening).
Administration: Gently rub the cream into the clean, completely dry skin. Wash hands thoroughly before and after application to prevent spreading the infection.
Duration: Treatment typically lasts between 2 to 4 weeks depending on the type and severity of the infection. Symptoms often improve within a few days, but the cream should be used for at least a week after all symptoms disappear to prevent recurrence.
