Active Ingredient: Tranexamic Acid (500mg).
What it does: It is an antifibrinolytic agent that prevents the breakdown of blood clots, helping to slow down or stop excessive bleeding.
Prescribed for: Heavy menstrual periods (menorrhagia), nosebleeds, bleeding after dental surgery (especially in hemophilia), and bleeding control during or after bladder, prostate, or cervix surgeries.
Standard Regimen: Typically 2 to 3 tablets taken 3 to 4 times daily during bleeding episodes, or as precisely calculated by your doctor.
Important Rules: Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
Contraindications (When NOT to take): Do not use this medication if you have active blood clotting conditions (like Deep Vein Thrombosis or Pulmonary Embolism), severe kidney failure, subarachnoid brain bleeding, or a history of color vision disorders.
Contraceptive Warning: Avoid combining this medicine with estrogen-containing birth control pills, patches, or rings, as the combination dramatically increases the risk of developing dangerous blood clots.
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or mild stomach pain (often improves if the dose is lowered by your doctor).
Headache, fatigue, sinus congestion, or mild muscle and back pain.
Critical Warning: Stop taking this medicine immediately and see a doctor if you experience sudden changes in your vision or color perception.
