Fosfomax 4gm IV Injection contains Fosfomycin Sodium (4 g). It is a broad-spectrum, bactericidal antibiotic administered intravenously. It works by disrupting early stages of bacterial cell wall synthesis, making it highly effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including multi-drug resistant strains.
Treatment of severe, complicated infections such as nosocomial pneumonia and bone/joint infections (osteomyelitis)
Management of complicated urinary tract infections (cUTI)
Treatment of bacterial meningitis and complicated intra-abdominal infections
Treatment of bacteremia or sepsis associated with severe infections
Adults: The standard dosage ranges from 12 g to 24 g per day, divided into 2 to 3 separate doses (e.g., 4 g given every 8 or 12 hours), administered via slow intravenous infusion over 30 to 60 minutes.
Children: Dosage is calculated by a specialist based on body weight and infection severity.
Must be administered under strict clinical supervision by a healthcare professional.
