QTP XR 50mg Tablet contains Quetiapine (50 mg) as an Extended-Release (XR) formulation.
Treatment of schizophrenia (managing symptoms like hallucinations, delusions, or disorganized thinking)
Treatment of bipolar disorder (controlling acute manic highs as well as bipolar depressive lows)
Add-on treatment for Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) when standard antidepressants are not fully effective alone
Adults: The extended-release 50 mg tablet is typically initiated once daily, specifically in the evening or prior to bedtime.
Administration: Must be swallowed whole with water.
Use strictly as prescribed. Never alter your dose or stop taking this medication abruptly.
Somnolence (excessive sleepiness or drowsiness) and fatigue
Dizziness and a sudden drop in blood pressure when standing up (orthostatic hypotension)
Dry mouth and constipation
Increased appetite, metabolic changes, and weight gain

Stand up very slowly from sitting or lying down to prevent fainting or falls. Avoid all alcohol, as it drastically amplifies drowsiness. Immediately contact your doctor if you experience sudden mood changes, worsening depression, suicidal thoughts, or signs of a rare, severe condition called Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome (characterized by high fever, severe muscle rigidity, and confusion).
