Ardance-L 25 mg + 5 mg Tablet contains:
- Empagliflozin 25 mg
- Linagliptin 5 mg
It is a combination oral antidiabetic medicine used for type-2 diabetes.
Description
This medicine lowers blood sugar through two mechanisms:
- Empagliflozin removes excess glucose through urine by blocking SGLT-2 in the kidneys
- Linagliptin increases insulin release and decreases glucagon levels in a glucose-dependent manner
Together they help improve blood sugar control and may reduce cardiovascular risk in some diabetic patients.
Uses
It is used for:
- Type-2 diabetes mellitus
- Improving blood sugar control with diet and exercise
- Patients not adequately controlled with single antidiabetic therapy
- Reducing cardiovascular risk in some diabetic patients
Typical Dose

Standard starting dose:
10 mg+5 mg once daily -
Higher maintenance dose:
25 mg+5 mg once daily
Usually taken once daily in the morning, with or without food.
How to Take
- Take once daily at the same time each day
- Can be taken with or without food
- Swallow whole with water
- Maintain proper diet and exercise
- Drink adequate fluids to avoid dehydration
- Do not stop without doctor’s advice
Common Side Effects
- Frequent urination
- Increased thirst
- Urinary tract infection
- Genital fungal infection
- Nausea
- Dizziness
- Low blood sugar (especially with insulin or sulfonylureas)
Important Warnings
- Not for type-1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis
- Use carefully in kidney disease
- Risk of dehydration and low blood pressure
- Rare risk of pancreatitis and ketoacidosis
- Maintain good genital hygiene to reduce infection risk
- Seek urgent medical help if severe vomiting, abdominal pain, breathing difficulty, or confusion occur
